Make Studio: The Joy of Feeling
UNIQLO Tate Play presents their free sensory sculpture workshop at the Tate Modern. ‘The Joy of Feeling’ runs every weekend until 12th February, with family sessions for under-5s on Wednesdays, 10:30-15:00. Visitors are invited to “Play with shapes, colours, textures, and materials to create an artwork that shows how you feel!”

Enjoy a day of fun with hands-on activities exploring food, culture, art, and design. Take part in zine making, make-up workshops and costume making, then join the parade through the galleries. There will also be a film screening, fruit preserve making, and wellbeing workshops for the whole family. It’s a fantastic opportunity for creativity and connection!

Grateful Hearts at MEbig
This month at MEplace, we’re exploring the value of gratitude, and our little learners at MEbig have enjoyed a whole host of activities throughout the week. From making friendship flowers and creating kindness collages to practising gratitude through mindfulness and yoga, the children have shared what’s important to them, and thought about the people who make them happy. We’re grateful for all the special moments we get to share with our MEbig family!
Creative Dance at MEbaby
The Caterpillars had a fantastic time at their first creative dance sessions this week. Led by our friends from Wee Movers, these playful sessions had the babies mesmerised by colourful scarves, playing with egg shakers, and bouncing around as they expressed their excitement! It was wonderful to see how engaged and energised the little ones were – we can’t wait for next time…
Cool Science at MEclub HWK
It’s cold outside, but that won’t stop our budding MEclub scientists! As the season changes, our after-school club explorers have been investigating wintery changes, from ice and snow to cold weather adaptations. They thought about the effects that different materials might have on blocks of ice, then tested their predictions in an exciting experiment using sand, soil, salt, water and flour – messy learning at its best!
A December to Remember at MEplace KX
Our MEplace KX team and children are celebrating the end of an incredible first term with a whole host of wintery fun! The children have enjoyed crafting festive decorations and creating seasonal artworks, as well as engaging in lots of snowy sensory play. We’re looking forward to tomorrow’s Christmas jumper day, with lots of hands-on activities to mark the occasion – and not forgetting this weekend’s Family Winter Party, to see out the season in style!
Mystery Readers at MEbig
There’s been a flurry of secret visitors for story time at MEbig… Our little detectives have used a range of clues to guess which parent is the mystery reader! Sharing festive favourites and timeless tales, the visiting parents have delighted the children and made story time even more special. Thank you so much to everyone who’s joined us to share a story with our little ones – watching their faces light up with excitement is such a joy!
Wonderful Winter at MEbaby
Our little Caterpillars have had snow much fun at MEbaby! The children have been exploring the wonders of the season with the story of ‘Sneezy the Snowman’. Using homemade playdough and a range of tools to engage little hands, our young learners have been sculpting their own snowmen. They’ve also explored snowy crafts using glue, cotton wool and lots of sparkles – all of the fun, with none of the chilly hands!
